Okay, what do you do after a relatively successful liberation of Orison from the NineTails? I think most people's first thought isn't "let's go explore the edge of the universe."
In short: we did it!
After some initial difficulties (30k, CtD), we set off with Finley, Francis, and thanks to my companion, also with provisions (haha, of course, I forgot!) in a 600i to MIC-L2 to fly from there to the edge of the known universe.
Since it was supposed to be a relaxed flight, we did it in civilian clothes—however, with a pressure suit on board for everyone, just in case something unexpected happened, following the old sailor’s motto when they reached the end of their map: "Here be dragons."
So we flew off from Orison towards MIC-L2, which took a while, since MicroTech is currently almost on the opposite side of the system from Crusader. After a final check of the supplies and the ship, we set off into the unknown: align, check flight direction, and off we go!
If you're thinking we'd run out of hydrogen before anything else... you're wrong! About 1000 km from the space station, we were stopped by an invisible wall! Not that we noticed right away, as we seemed to be continuing to move.
After realizing that despite constant thrust we were actually moving in the other direction, we aborted the attempt and headed back to MIC-L2, only to discover... that there is neither a food court nor a bar there! What a waste... no cozy little after-party!
So, we can now confirm that currently the same effect occurs at the edge of the universe as when you try to approach Stanton. For me, however, this is worth another attempt when the path to the Pyro system is opened!
Because if you remember, those who fall out of the wormhole end up between the systems badly damaged, so there is obviously a way to get there!
If I take this trip again with Anna Reeves, we’ll need to pack many more plushies and provisions!
